      FAQ

      Frequently asked questions

Is the Magic 8 Ball random?

Yes. Each shake picks one of the 20 answers with crypto.getRandomValues and rejection sampling, so all 20 have the same 5% chance. It does not read your question, and the same question can get a different answer each time.

      Are my questions saved?

Your last 10 questions and answers stay in this browser's local storage so you can scroll back. They never leave your device, and Clear history removes them.

      How many answers are there?

20, the traditional set: 10 that lean yes, 5 that are noncommittal, and 5 that lean no. The full list is above.

      Does it work on phones?

Yes. Tap the ball to shake it. The page is light and keeps working offline once loaded.
